Tom’s of Maine created the first natural deodorant in 1976. Since then, they’ve continued to pursue innovative new natural ingredients that deliver improved odor protection. We’re excited to introduce our newest natural odor-fighting ingredient—hops (Humulus lupulus)—which we've added to our original deodorant formula!

Hops inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria. The antimicrobial action of hops inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria while reducing the possibility of skin irritation.

Natural ingredients are the effective building blocks of all Tom's of Maine products. And given some of the research indicating a possible link between commercial deodorants and breast cancer -- many people choose Tom's of Maine...naturally!

Will natural products be more likely to give me a rash?

Natural products are not inherently hypoallergenic. While the majority of people are able to use and enjoy our products, there are some who, because of individual body chemistries, may not be able to use them. If you have used this product and you feel you may be sensitive or allergic to it in some way, please discontinue use immediately.

Why do your unscented products say unscented, but still have a smell to them?

We do not add fragrance to our unscented products, which is why we call them unscented. However, some of the ingredients that we use do have a natural scent of their own. Since we do not use any kind of fragrance maskers in our products, you may detect a slight scent in our unscented products.
